Visual Identity
In order to reimagine and showcase the themes of Catching Fire, a fresh physical as well as digital design were created. There was an emphasis on typography with simple imagery in order to portray two impactful events within the book. The gradient of warm colors enhances the symbol of fire within both designs. The purely digital rendering utilizes a flat black background that stands in harsh contrast with the bright, modern type and arrow graphic. The physical cover was painted with watercolor on top of acrylic to accentuate the rough texture as well organic white hand. A flame was also used to create the word “FIRE” to add extra physical qualities.
